During the last few years people would ask me if I would style them or if I would organize their closet. They wanted to know if I went to school for fashion design or merchandising. Most people think that I hold a degree in some area of fashion, but, in fact, I don’t. My degree is in Speech Communication! Working in the fashion industry was never my first choice. I’ve always had a knack for fashion and helping people, but never desired to make a living or career out of helping others do the same. Today, however, I offer services to women (and men) all over the world in the form of what I like to call boutique consulting.
Today, my vision has changed. It is my desire to help others start careers in the fashion and retail industry. After working long and hard for some the world’s most notable retailers I am ready to help others become retailers!
If you are ready to start a retail fashion business of your own, you are in the right place. Allow me to tell you a little bit about myself and how I can help you!
I’ve worked in retail for the last 12 years and specifically retail management for the last five. I’ve held positions ranging from sales consultant, visual merchandising manager, sales manager, and stylist and store manager. To put this simply, I have spent the last 12 years helping women (and men on occasion) put together outfits and at times entire wardrobes for the upcoming season. I’ve worked for a variety of well-known retailers including Michael Kors, DKNY and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Eventually I branched off into the small business world. I helped an already successful thrift store (Revive Thrift Shop) become an amazing shopping destination for St. Louis residents. We eventually changed our name to Revive Thrift + Boutique and offered a dual shopping experience that offered both new and used merchandise in an elevated shopping space.
In this position I was interested to the world of wholesale buying. I took various trips to the L.A. Fashion District and also attended fashion trade shows. I was able to build relationships with a ton of vendors and ultimately increase our shop’s clothing sales by more than 60%.
Fast forward to present day, I am now offering boutique consulting services to other women (and men) who want to open boutiques of their own. After doing much of my own research I realized that their weren’t very many resources or people willing to help prospective boutique owners open their own businesses. So, I took it upon myself to start sharing all of the knowledge that I had grown to possess in my own fashion career. No need to be selfish.
Why Boutique Consulting?
I’ve always been told that blessings come to those who bless others with what they have. That happened for me! Very quickly I began receiving emails and messages from women all over the world who had questions about how to start their businesses, which in turn became a business for myself.
I never saw myself being a consultant. Maybe a fashion stylist, but not a consultant. Yet, here I am with arms open wide ready to share my knowledge with you.
